The Splash

I was asked to take a few photos at one of the Splash's latest gigs. After turning up at The Croft in Bristol i soon discovered that i forgot batteries and went to the news agents next door. When i saw that 2 duracell batteries were £3, i decided to be a cheap skate and by a generic make. 5 minutes into their set the flash decided to only go off every few photos, making it very hard to shoot.

I definitely learnt something during this shoot. Never forget batteries, and don't be a cheap skate!

Looking through the photos, Kye's facial expressions really made editing these photos rather entertaining.

Couple Training

I was lucky enough to be put on Damien Lovegrove's couple's training course. This was a course that taught photographers how to photograph couples. I found this very helpful, as i always had trouble positioning and interacting with the people in front of the camera.

A recent photo that i quite like.....

This was a photo i took at a local wedding. I was quite please with how sharp it is, and like the look of the image, so thought i would put it on here :)

This photo is quite small on here, so click on it to make it bigger :)

A-Level Results

So i was asked to go to Kings College and take photos of the students opening their A-Level results. I was a bit nervous as i realised i probably look younger than most of the students, and thought they might think i was a student that they just never noticed in class before!
It was a very wet day, so all the shots had to be done inside, but thanks to very photogenic students; it was very easy to get the shots quickly and easily.

Katherine

Katherine Totterdell came to Martin Hill Photography for a weeks work experience....little did she know, it wouldn't be any ordinary work experiance. During her first couple of days, Martin decided it would be a good idea to create a little competition between myself and Martin, which involves each of us going off for separate photo shoots, with Katherine as our model and in the end, Katherine's dad would decide who's final image was best, without knowing which photo belonged to who.

Here is a selection of my images.

Taunton Touch

Louise (Taunton Touch) moved in above the Martin Hill studio, and transformed what was a very messy space, into a gorgeous spa. When Lou asked me to take some shots for her i jumped at the chance! Luckily we had Katherine in the studio for work experience with Martin, and she agreed to do a tiny bit of modelling for the photos.

I used a 24-70, Macro, and a 17-40 lens to get the wide angles, and detailed shots of the products.
